About Us
We continue to focus on refugee resettlement, welcome and respite for immigrants, and family reunification and respite care, while calling for action on climate-disaster displacement and launching loans, job placement, and other innovative initiatives focused on inclusion and empowerment. We are more ready than ever to open our arms in welcome. The work of the past 85 years is just the beginning.
Child protection is a universal value that unites all
CARE AND SERVICES
Children begin receiving care immediately upon entering our facility. They are provided with food, clothing, hygiene care and receive a preliminary admission evaluation. Within 24 hours of your arrival, direct care staff, case management, and medical staff conduct a more thorough intake screening process. Within 48 hours of arrival, children receive a medical exam from a licensed provider, including screening for infectious diseases, and receive immunizations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Children requiring specialist consultations or hospital care are quickly transported to appropriate medical facilities. Southwest Key staff are integral to the care and services children receive, as their involvement in programs is critical to our humanitarian mission for unaccompanied children..
